Jake works with some of Detroit’s boldest entrepreneurs and business owners to tell their stories and successes. Prior to founding Espresso Public Relations, Jake served as the director of strategic communications for Ignition Media Group, a Detroit based agency owned by Dennis Archer Jr., where he oversaw its PR practice.
Jake earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor and a master’s degree in sports business from Georgetown University. After obtaining his degree, he became a producer at Bloomberg News in Washington D.C., where he pitched and produced stories on the 2011 NFL lockout, the U.S. Department of Treasury and The National Commission on Fiscal Responsibility and Reform. He was later hired as a producer on the weekly show Fox News Sunday with Chris Wallace.
He then served as the business development executive at the National Press Club, a private club for journalists in D.C., where he oversaw and managed its in-house broadcast studio facilities, organized messaging and meeting events for Fortune 500 CEOs, political candidates, noted authors, thinkers, influencers and celebrities. While living in D.C. Jake kept reading news stories about how Detroit was coming back and how new restaurants, bars and coffee shops were opening in the city what seemed like every day. He felt like he was missing out on something great happening in his hometown. He wanted to be a part of it. So in 2016, Jake returned to Detroit to witness the revitalization firsthand and help promote the people and businesses who are the driving the Motor City.
